Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes Yogi Adityanath's DNA Remarks Over Babur-Sambhal Analogy

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has strongly condemned Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's recent comments comparing the events of Ayodhya during Babur's reign to the current situation in Sambhal and Bangladesh. In a scathing attack, Yadav urged the Chief Minister to refrain from discussing "DNA" and suggested that Adityanath should have his own DNA tested.

Yogi Adityanath had earlier linked the actions of Babur’s army in Ayodhya to incidents in Bangladesh and Sambhal, stating that the “nature and DNA” of the events were the same. The comments drew immediate backlash, with Yadav questioning Adityanath’s knowledge of science and biology. He also expressed his intention to get his own DNA tested, challenging the Chief Minister to do the same.

Yadav, referring to Adityanath as a "saint" and a "yogi," emphasized that such language was unbecoming of someone in his position, particularly when discussing sensitive topics like DNA.

The controversy began after the Chief Minister drew a parallel between the 16th-century Babur-era actions in Ayodhya and the recent violence in Sambhal and Bangladesh, where Hindu people and monks have been targeted. In Sambhal, a deadly incident took place last month during a court-mandated survey of a mosque.
