CBDT Extends Deadline for Filing Audit Reports to October 7

New Delhi : The Income Tax Department has extended the deadline for filing audit reports for the financial year 2023-24. According to a notification issued by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the deadline for submitting various audit reports has been changed from September 30 to October 7.

As per the circular (No. 10/2024, Reference 225/205/2024-ITA-II) released by CBDT on Sunday, the deadline for filing these reports for the financial year 2023-24 has been extended to October 7, 2024.

The Income Tax Department stated that the extension was granted in light of the difficulties taxpayers were facing in electronically filing various audit reports under the Income Tax Act. Taxpayers are advised to take full advantage of this extended deadline and ensure that their audit reports are submitted by the new due date of October 7, 2024.
