FBI Releases New Video in Search for January 6 Pipe Bomb Suspect

Washington, D.C.: The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released new video footage in its ongoing efforts to identify the suspect responsible for placing pipe bombs near the headquarters of the Republican National Committee (RNC) and Democratic National Committee (DNC) on January 6, 2021.
The newly unveiled footage provides a closer look at the suspect, who was seen wearing a hoodie, mask, and gloves while walking in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. The video captures the suspect's movements on the evening of January 5, 2021, showing them carrying a bag believed to contain the explosive devices.
The FBI hopes the video will jog the memories of witnesses or those who may have seen or interacted with the suspect. The agency has also increased the reward for information leading to an arrest, now offering up to $500,000.
The pipe bombs were discovered just before the events of January 6, where a mob stormed the U.S. Capitol. While the devices did not detonate, their placement heightened tensions during an already chaotic and historic day in American history.
The FBI continues to urge anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward and assist in the investigation
