GOLD futures gains by 0.33% and SILVER futures gains by 1.84%, while CRUDEOIL futures drops by 2.41%

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.80269.26 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 26 September 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 15228.1 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 65038.12 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Oct-24 futures was reached at 19019 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 10473.76 crores. GOLD Oct-24 contract was up by 0.33% to Rs. 75565 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Sep-24 contract was down by 0.02% to Rs. 61173 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Sep-24 contract was up by 1.27% to Rs. 7499 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Oct-24 contract was up by 0.37% to Rs. 75442 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec-24 contract was up by 1.84% to Rs. 93740 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was up by 1.78% to Rs. 93543 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was up by 1.8% to Rs. 93542 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 4624.15 crores with volume of 6103 lots and OI of 22573 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2669.86 crores with volume of 9563 lots and OI of 27420 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1994.14 crores. COPPER Sep-24 contract was up by 1.11% to Rs. 841.2 per kg and ZINC Sep-24 contract was up by 1.22% to Rs. 277 per kg while ALUMINIUM Sep-24 contract was up by 0.48% to Rs. 232.2 per kg and LEAD Oct-24 contract was up by 0.84% to Rs. 185.95 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1227.68 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 193.15 crores, Lead futures Rs. 34.02 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 381.11 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2861.60 crores. CRUDEOIL Oct-24 contract was down by 2.41% to Rs. 5700 per BBL while NATURALGAS Oct-24 contract was up by 1.48% to Rs. 239.8 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1489.94 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1059.90 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Sep-24 contract was down by 0.17% to Rs. 923 per kg and COTTONCNDY Sep-24 contract was down by 0.05% to Rs. 57500 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 65038.12 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1666.21 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was down by 22.01% to Rs. 101.00 with volume of 74833 lots & OI of 35163 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5700 was up by 59.31% to Rs. 204.4 with volume of 85353 lots & OI of 6959 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.240 was up by 9.85% to Rs. 15.05 with volume of 10445 lots & OI of 4090 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.240 was down by 11.21% to Rs. 15.45 with volume of 9231 lots & OI of 3978 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.77000 was up by 18.07% to Rs. 1320.00 with volume of 188 lots & OI of 422 lots, while Gold Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.75000 was down by 12.3% to Rs. 970 with volume of 266 lots & OI of 320 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.92000 was up by 27.09% to Rs. 5189.00 with volume of 636 lots & OI of 387 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.92000 was down by 12.47% to Rs. 3500 with volume of 420 lots & OI of 152 lots.
