Igas Bhagwal Festival Celebrated with Fanfare at Anil Baluni's Residence, PM Modi and Key Dignitaries Attend

New Delhi : The Igas Bhagwal festival was celebrated with great fanfare at the residence of BJP MP Anil Baluni from Garhwal, Uttarakhand, in New Delhi. The event was attended by several prominent dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, BJP National President JP Nadda, Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev, spiritual guru and storyteller Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, among others.

During the event, Prime Minister Modi was seen wearing the traditional Uttarakhand cap. He performed a prayer to a Tulsi plant and expressed his respect for Uttarakhand's rich cultural heritage.

Prime Minister Modi shared pictures from the event on his social media platforms, saying, “Today in Delhi, I had the privilege of attending the Igas festival at the residence of Uttarakhand MP Anil Baluni. I hope this festival brings happiness, prosperity, and success into the lives of everyone.”

He further stated, “We are committed to moving forward with development while preserving our heritage. I am pleased to see that the Igas festival, which is associated with the folk culture of Uttarakhand, is once again becoming the center of faith for the people of my Uttarakhand family.”

Modi also remarked, “The way my brothers and sisters from Uttarakhand have revived the tradition of Igas is very encouraging. The widespread celebration of this sacred festival across the country is a direct testament to this. I am confident that this heritage of Devbhoomi will continue to thrive.”

It is well known that the Igas Bhagwal festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Uttarakhand, 11 days after Diwali. It is also referred to as "Buddhi Diwali."
