IND vs ENG 4th Test: Gautam Gambhir Learns Throwdown During Indoor Nets as Rain Disrupts Outdoor Practice

Manchester : As the crucial fourth Test between India and England approaches at Old Trafford, Manchester, Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir was seen getting involved in a light-hearted training session by learning throwdowns from the support staff during indoor nets on Tuesday. The outdoor practice session was disrupted due to rain, prompting both teams to move indoors for preparation.
In a video that surfaced online, Gambhir can be seen taking throwdown lessons from Team India’s throwdown specialists Raghu, Daya and others, sharing smiles and laughs in the process. Despite the indoor mat not offering the natural feel of the pitch, players made the most of the session ahead of the high-stakes clash.
While the Indian squad trained indoors, left-handed batter B Sai Sudharsan was seen alone on the pitch, shadow batting on the covers. His individual focus and commitment drew attention as the rest of the team stayed inside due to the weather.
According to Accuweather, cloud cover is expected to be around 94% in the morning, though the chance of rain is only 19% initially. However, as the day progresses, the chances of showers rise to 65% in the afternoon, remaining cloudy throughout. By evening, the probability of rain decreases to 48%, but overcast conditions will persist. This could encourage the toss-winning team to opt for bowling first to exploit the seam-friendly atmosphere.
With England leading the five-match series 2-1, this fourth Test is virtually a must-win for India. After suffering back-to-back defeats at Leeds and Lord’s due to repeated batting collapses, India’s campaign under newly appointed head coach Gautam Gambhir hangs in the balance. A loss at Manchester could end India’s hopes of a series win.
As the pressure mounts, all eyes will be on how Team India responds — both tactically and mentally — when the Test begins under potentially tricky weather conditions.
