Juhu Locals Slam Illegal Parking on Gulmohar Road, Demanding Action

Juhu, Mumbai: Residents of the Juhu JVPD area are expressing frustration over illegal parking on Gulmohar Road, causing significant traffic issues. Customers visiting hotels along the stretch, from Mithibai College to Criticare Hospital, are reportedly parking their vehicles, further narrowing the already congested road.
With thousands of vehicles passing through daily, including commuters and those heading towards the upcoming D N Nagar to Mandale Metro line, the situation has become a major inconvenience. Activists and local residents, like Ashok Pandit and Bharat Shetty, are calling for immediate action against the parking menace, which they believe is linked to local restaurant and café owners.
“Despite filing numerous complaints, no action has been taken. The situation is becoming dangerous as parked cars increase the chances of accidents," said Nita Bajpai, a local activist. Residents allege that some vehicle owners even park in front of eateries, moving cars unpredictably, adding to the danger.
Traffic police insist that they have taken action, but locals remain dissatisfied, urging for stricter enforcement and fines for violators. With the issue ongoing, residents demand authorities step up their efforts to ensure the road remains clear for safe commuting.
