MCX records turnover of Rs.11027 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.82820 crores in Options

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.93849.87 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 10 December 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 11027.93 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 82820.89 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Dec-24 futures was reached at 19080 point.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 7310.94 crores. GOLD Feb-25 contract was up by 0.38% to Rs. 77780 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Dec-24 contract was up by 0.36% to Rs. 62425 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Dec-24 contract was up by 0.29% to Rs. 7740 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Jan-25 contract was up by 0.36% to Rs. 77277 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-25 contract was down by 0.03% to Rs. 95170 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was down by 0.01% to Rs. 95076 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 without any changes 95074 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2743.45 crores with volume of 3531 lots and OI of 14763 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2128.92 crores with volume of 7470 lots and OI of 24536 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1505.03 crores. COPPER Dec-24 contract was down by 0.25% to Rs. 828.95 per kg and ZINC Dec-24 contract was down by 0.29% to Rs. 290.85 per kg while ALUMINIUM Dec-24 contract was up by 0.02% to Rs. 243.75 per kg and LEAD Dec-24 contract was down by 0.36% to Rs. 180.5 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 856.58 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 195.56 crores, Lead futures Rs. 27.29 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 294.94 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2276.02 crores. CRUDEOIL Dec-24 contract was down by 0.62% to Rs. 5789 per BBL while NATURALGAS Dec-24 contract was down by 2.39% to Rs. 265 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 775.09 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1205.46 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Dec-24 contract was up by 0.23% to Rs. 923 per kg and COTTONCNDY Jan-25 contract was down by 1.1% to Rs. 54670 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 82820.89 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1101.47 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5800 was down by 22.03% to Rs. 76.80 with volume of 170058 lots & OI of 36525 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5800 was up by 24.14% to Rs. 90.5 with volume of 150468 lots & OI of 20710 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.270 was down by 23.74% to Rs. 10.60 with volume of 17666 lots & OI of 8189 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.270 was up by 28.86% to Rs. 15.85 with volume of 14859 lots & OI of 4179 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.78000 was up by 17.72% to Rs. 940.00 with volume of 1240 lots & OI of 468 lots, while Gold Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.77000 was down by 13.88% to Rs. 692 with volume of 1093 lots & OI of 649 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by 0.55% to Rs. 4330.00 with volume of 611 lots & OI of 715 lots, while Silver Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by 1.26% to Rs. 4180 with volume of 267 lots & OI of 232 lots
