MCX records turnover of Rs.11217.19 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.66872.2 crores in Options

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.78091.39 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 17 October 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 11217.19 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 66872.2 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Oct-24 futures was reached at 19090 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 7149.93 crores. GOLD Dec-24 contract was up by 0.35% to Rs. 76930 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Oct-24 contract was up by 0.39% to Rs. 61698 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Oct-24 contract was up by 0.19% to Rs. 7505 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Oct-24 contract was up by 0.32% to Rs. 76410 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec-24 contract was up by 0.05% to Rs. 92227 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was up by 0.05% to Rs. 92080 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was up by 0.03% to Rs. 92071 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2042.67 crores with volume of 2657 lots and OI of 17250 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2554.90 crores with volume of 9276 lots and OI of 28830 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 2256.11 crores. COPPER Oct-24 contract was down by 0.87% to Rs. 813.9 per kg and ZINC Oct-24 contract was down by 0.78% to Rs. 279.75 per kg while ALUMINIUM Oct-24 contract was down by 0.42% to Rs. 236.65 per kg and LEAD Oct-24 contract was down by 0.22% to Rs. 182.4 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1381.61 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 204.22 crores, Lead futures Rs. 44.98 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 435.90 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1829.03 crores. CRUDEOIL Oct-24 contract was down by 0.03% to Rs. 5921 per BBL while NATURALGAS Oct-24 contract was down by 0.35% to Rs. 199.7 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 704.87 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 910.70 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Oct-24 without any changes 914 per kg and COTTONCNDY Nov-24 contract was down by 0.56% to Rs. 56800 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 66872.2 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 714.71 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was down by 28.39% to Rs. 51.70 with volume of 111336 lots & OI of 8992 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was down by 43.44% to Rs. 26.3 with volume of 108037 lots & OI of 10217 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.210 was down by 6.1% to Rs. 3.85 with volume of 20208 lots & OI of 15134 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.195 was up by 8.33% to Rs. 5.2 with volume of 15392 lots & OI of 4391 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.77000 was up by 11.6% to Rs. 1390.00 with volume of 253 lots & OI of 654 lots, while Gold Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.76000 was down by 5.33% to Rs. 1004 with volume of 244 lots & OI of 454 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.92000 was up by 1.7% to Rs. 3448.00 with volume of 452 lots & OI of 705 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.92000 was up by 3.04% to Rs. 3283 with volume of 295 lots & OI of 310 lots.
