MCX records turnover of Rs.13497.95 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.44469.29 crores in Options

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.57969.23 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 25 September 2024 till 5:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 13497.95 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 44469.29 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Oct-24 futures was reached at 18901 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 9481.80 crores. GOLD Oct-24 contract was up by 0.27% to Rs. 75205 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Sep-24 contract was up by 1.25% to Rs. 61061 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Sep-24 contract was up by 1.72% to Rs. 7433 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Oct-24 contract was up by 0.31% to Rs. 75115 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec-24 contract was down by 0.04% to Rs. 92360 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was up by 0.01% to Rs. 92227 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 without any changes 92221 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 4585.07 crores with volume of 6080 lots and OI of 22002 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2308.05 crores with volume of 8360 lots and OI of 26735 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1960.88 crores. COPPER Sep-24 contract was up by 0.42% to Rs. 826.95 per kg and ZINC Sep-24 contract was down by 0.09% to Rs. 272.7 per kg while ALUMINIUM Sep-24 contract was down by 0.63% to Rs. 230 per kg and LEAD Sep-24 contract was up by 0.22% to Rs. 180.95 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1209.74 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 161.54 crores, Lead futures Rs. 53.87 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 363.43 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2090.61 crores. CRUDEOIL Oct-24 contract was down by 1.42% to Rs. 5898 per BBL while NATURALGAS Sep-24 contract was up by 1.08% to Rs. 216.2 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 677.43 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1175.57 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Sep-24 contract was down by 0.23% to Rs. 923 per kg and COTTONCNDY Sep-24 contract was up by 1% to Rs. 57500 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 44469.29 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1128.48 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was down by 14.27% to Rs. 153.20 with volume of 82375 lots & OI of 28227 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was up by 28.47% to Rs. 254.5 with volume of 66962 lots & OI of 9464 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.240 was up by 6.06% to Rs. 14.00 with volume of 12583 lots & OI of 3465 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.220 was down by 10.81% to Rs. 8.25 with volume of 7970 lots & OI of 4424 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.77000 was up by 4.51% to Rs. 1135.00 with volume of 210 lots & OI of 403 lots, while Gold Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.74000 was down by 12.32% to Rs. 765 with volume of 823 lots & OI of 781 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by 1.5% to Rs. 3082.00 with volume of 443 lots & OI of 931 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.85000 was up by 0.17% to Rs. 1179.5 with volume of 274 lots & OI of 994 lots.
