MCX records turnover of Rs.9081.21 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.46860.77 crores in Options

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.55942.93 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 07 October 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 9081.21 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 46860.77 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Oct-24 futures was reached at 18999 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 5897.05 crores. GOLD Dec-24 contract was up by 0.21% to Rs. 76302 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Oct-24 contract was up by 0.19% to Rs. 61450 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Oct-24 contract was up by 0.08% to Rs. 7489 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Oct-24 contract was up by 0.17% to Rs. 75900 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec-24 contract was down by 0.52% to Rs. 92864 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was down by 0.51% to Rs. 92773 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was down by 0.49% to Rs. 92771 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2129.73 crores with volume of 2798 lots and OI of 17194 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1832.71 crores with volume of 6573 lots and OI of 27102 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1274.23 crores. COPPER Oct-24 contract was up by 0.08% to Rs. 856 per kg and ZINC Oct-24 contract was up by 0.03% to Rs. 287.9 per kg while ALUMINIUM Oct-24 contract was down by 0.19% to Rs. 242.45 per kg and LEAD Oct-24 contract was up by 0.13% to Rs. 186.6 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 742.34 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 106.88 crores, Lead futures Rs. 29.94 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 265.85 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1903.85 crores. CRUDEOIL Oct-24 contract was up by 1.12% to Rs. 6410 per BBL while NATURALGAS Oct-24 contract was down by 1.37% to Rs. 237 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 852.47 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 818.30 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Oct-24 contract was up by 0.34% to Rs. 928 per kg and COTTONCNDY Nov-24 contract was down by 0.61% to Rs. 56900 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 46860.77 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1137.73 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6400 was up by 2.88% to Rs. 239.70 with volume of 39438 lots & OI of 6138 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6300 was down by 23.09% to Rs. 183.5 with volume of 30869 lots & OI of 6573 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.240 was down by 13.12% to Rs. 12.25 with volume of 13951 lots & OI of 7101 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.240 was up by 7.55% to Rs. 14.95 with volume of 7577 lots & OI of 4046 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.78000 was up by 5.58% to Rs. 870.00 with volume of 288 lots & OI of 305 lots, while Gold Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.75000 was down by 2.59% to Rs. 938.5 with volume of 196 lots & OI of 437 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.100000 was down by 5.64% to Rs. 1641.00 with volume of 459 lots & OI of 1634 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was up by 8.72% to Rs. 2430 with volume of 191 lots & OI of 563 lots.
