Mumbai, January 14, 2026:
Western Railway will undertake a major night block on the Kandivali–Borivali section in connection with the ongoing construction of the 6th railway line, affecting several suburban services over the weekend.
As part of the project, a 30-day block has already been in place since the night of December 20/21, 2025, and will continue till January 18, 2026. During this period, train operations on certain sections are being regulated, resulting in cancellations and restrictions.
According to a press release issued by the Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Shri Vineet Abhishek, a major block will be carried out during the nights of January 16/17 and January 17/18, 2026. The block will be imposed on the UP fast line from 11:15 pm to 3:15 am, and on the DOWN fast line from 1:00 am to 4:30 am between Borivali and Malad stations.
Due to the block, suspension of the 5th line, and speed restrictions in the affected section, several suburban train services will remain cancelled. On January 17 and 18, 2026, a total of 120 suburban trains per day—60 UP and 60 DOWN services—will be cancelled.
Western Railway has issued detailed lists of affected trains in Annexure-I and Annexure-II, which are available with the respective Station Masters. Commuters have been advised to check train schedules in advance and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
