MCX records turnover of Rs.9550.55 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.49778.73 crores in Options

GOLD Oct-24 futures contract gains by 0.01% and SILVER Dec-24 futures contract gains by 0.5%, while CRUDEOIL Sep-24 futures contract gains by 0.65% : Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep-24 futures was reached at 17788 point

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.59331.76 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Monday, September 9, 2024 till 4:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 9550.55 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 49778.73 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep-24 futures was reached at 17788 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 5740.66 crores. GOLD Oct-24 contract was up by 0.01% to Rs. 71432 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Sep-24 contract was down by 0.15% to Rs. 57760 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Sep-24 contract was down by 0.04% to Rs. 7025 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Oct-24 contract was down by 0.02% to Rs. 71394 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec-24 contract was up by 0.5% to Rs. 83173 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was up by 0.45% to Rs. 83203 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was up by 0.46% to Rs. 83230 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2493.03 crores with volume of 3488 lots and OI of 19759 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1621.37 crores with volume of 6506 lots and OI of 33398 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1885.45 crores. COPPER Sep-24 contract was up by 1.16% to Rs. 791 per kg and ZINC Sep-24 contract was up by 1.16% to Rs. 256.65 per kg while ALUMINIUM Sep-24 contract was up by 0.37% to Rs. 218.4 per kg and LEAD Sep-24 contract was up by 0.03% to Rs. 181.1 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1271.24 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 153.76 crores, Lead futures Rs. 24.69 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 311.52 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1916.87 crores. CRUDEOIL Sep-24 contract was up by 0.65% to Rs. 5741 per BBL while NATURALGAS Sep-24 contract was down by 3.66% to Rs. 184 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 745.50 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 969.97 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Sep-24 contract was down by 0.52% to Rs. 955 per kg and COTTONCNDY Sep-24 contract was down by 0.64% to Rs. 58660 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 49778.73 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 904.8 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5800 was up by 8.62% to Rs. 114.70 with volume of 68783 lots & OI of 17417 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5700 was down by 16.03% to Rs. 118.4 with volume of 68443 lots & OI of 10922 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.190 was down by 35.29% to Rs. 6.60 with volume of 16783 lots & OI of 8304 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.180 was up by 40.78% to Rs. 7.25 with volume of 15640 lots & OI of 8418 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.72000 was down by 6.39% to Rs. 630.00 with volume of 933 lots & OI of 1290 lots, while Gold Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.71000 was down by 5.58% to Rs. 643 with volume of 704 lots & OI of 828 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.83000 was up by 6.19% to Rs. 3498.50 with volume of 252 lots & OI of 446 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.80000 was down by 7.16% to Rs. 1872.5 with volume of 269 lots & OI of 975 lots.
