'Mera Ground Hai Yeh’: Rahul Roars After Dominating RCB in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, April 11: KL Rahul made a resounding statement both with the bat and his words as he led Delhi Capitals (DC) to a six-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 24th match of the IPL 2025 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday. After sealing the match with a towering six, the former RCB star let out an emotional roar and declared: “Mera ground hai yeh” — a powerful celebration at his home turf where he plays domestic cricket for Karnataka.

Facing a challenging target of 164, Delhi Capitals were rocked early, losing three quick wickets. But KL Rahul, known for his composure under pressure, anchored the innings with class and authority. He forged a crucial, unbeaten 111-run partnership with Tristan Stubbs to guide DC to a comfortable win.

Rahul finished the game with a match-winning 93 not out off 53 balls, laced with 7 fours and 6 sixes, including a decisive six over fine leg that brought the chase to a thrilling conclusion. Stubbs provided solid support with a measured knock, as Delhi completed the chase with several balls to spare.

Earlier, RCB posted a competitive total of 163/7, riding on a brisk start by Phil Salt, who scored 37 off 17 balls, and a late flourish by Tim David, who remained unbeaten on 37 off 20 deliveries. However, Delhi’s bowlers, particularly Kuldeep Yadav and young spinner Vipraj Nigam, turned the game around during the middle overs with two wickets each, putting the brakes on RCB’s momentum.

With this win, Delhi Capitals climbed to second place on the points table, marking their fourth win of the season. RCB, on the other hand, slipped to third after suffering their second defeat of the campaign.

Rahul’s passionate post-match celebration and dominant display at a stadium he calls home was not just a message to his former franchise, but a reminder of the match-winner he continues to be.
