My Wife Wants My Death': Karnataka Man Ends Life Amid Harassment Allegations

Chamundeshwari Nagar, Karnataka: In a tragic incident, 40-year-old Peter Gollapalli, an employee at a private firm, was found dead at his residence on Sunday. A suicide note left behind accused his wife, Pinky, of harassment, leading to his untimely death.
According to police reports, Peter wrote, “Daddy, I’m sorry. My wife Pinky is killing me, she wants my death. I am dying because of my wife’s torture.” The couple, married two years ago, had been living separately for the past 21 months due to frequent quarrels. Peter’s family revealed that his wife had filed for divorce and demanded ₹20 lakh as alimony.
Family members stated that Peter had been unemployed for the last three months, which intensified the discord. His brother, Eshayya, found Peter hanging after returning from church on Sunday afternoon. Eshayya alleged that Peter’s wife and her elder brother had assaulted him, with a prior police complaint filed about the incident.
A case under Section 108 (abetment to suicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered against the deceased’s wife. Police confirmed that further investigations are underway.
