President Murmu will inaugurate the 8th India Water Week at Bharat Mandapam today

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the 8th India Water Week at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital today at 10:30 AM. Central Minister for Jal Shakti C.R. Patil and Minister of State Raj Bhushan Chaudhary will be present at the event. The three-day event will feature discussions on water at Bharat Mandapam. This information was provided in a press release by the Press Information Bureau (PIB).
According to the release, the international event will see participation from experts in water resources from various countries, as well as distinguished representatives, ministers, and senior officials from both central and state governments. Scholars from various academic institutions, non-governmental organizations, and representatives from society will also take part.
Secretary (Jal Shakti) Debashree Mukherjee stated that the theme for the 8th India Water Week 2024 is 'Partnership and Cooperation for Inclusive Water Development and Management.' The main objective is to determine methods for the conservation, protection, and utilization of available water. The event will also include cultural programs and study tours, aiming to reflect on the complexities of water management in the 21st century.
According to the Press Information Bureau, a ministerial meeting will be held alongside the inauguration session, where all ministers will share their perspectives on the water sector. Representatives from countries such as Denmark, Israel, Australia, and Singapore will also be present, and research papers focused on water will be presented.
