Trump Praises PM Modi as a "Total Killer" and Reflects on Historic "Howdy Modi" Event

In a recent conversation on the Flagrant Podcast, former US President Donald Trump showered praise on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him a “total killer” while also describing him as “the nicest human being” and a “very good friend.” Trump's comments about Modi came as part of a broader discussion on world leaders and global politics.

According to Trump, before Modi became Prime Minister, India was considered "very unstable." He emphasized that Modi, with his leadership, had transformed India, noting, "On the outside, he looks like he's your father. He is the nicest and a total killer.” This high praise for Modi highlights the strong personal and professional relationship that has developed between the two leaders over the years.

Trump also reminisced about the historic “Howdy, Modi” event in Houston, Texas, in 2019, where Modi addressed a crowd of over 50,000 Indian-Americans. Trump, who was present at the event, recalled the excitement of the occasion. “It was me and him and it was beautiful. It was a gathering of around 80,000 people and it felt like crazy. We were walking about. Today, maybe I won't be able to do something like that,” he said, reflecting on the immense energy of the moment.

The “Howdy, Modi” event, held at the NRG Stadium, was a significant moment in Indo-US relations, with both leaders exchanging compliments and celebrating the growing partnership between their nations. It marked one of the largest gatherings of Indian-Americans in the US, strengthening the cultural and political bonds between India and the United States.

Following this event, Trump visited India in February 2020 for the “Namaste Trump” event in Ahmedabad, where over 100,000 people gathered at the world’s largest cricket stadium. This visit further cemented the personal and political relationship between Trump and Modi. During the event, Trump praised Modi’s leadership and India’s economic growth, underscoring the shared democratic values between the two countries.

In a message following Trump's 2020 election victory, PM Modi congratulated Trump, describing him as a “friend” and expressing eagerness to continue strengthening the Indo-US partnership. Modi emphasized the importance of their collaboration for promoting global peace, stability, and prosperity.

The strong personal rapport between PM Modi and Trump has become a symbol of the deepening ties between India and the United States, with both leaders working together to enhance the global strategic and economic relationship between the two nations.
