Usmanabad Railway Station Renamed as Dharashiv: Official Name Change Effective June 1

Usmanabad, Maharashtra | May 30, 2025 In line with the Government of Maharashtra's decision to rename the city of Usmanabad as Dharashiv, Indian Railways has officially changed the name of Usmanabad Railway Station to Dharashiv Railway Station. The station code has also been updated from UMD to DRSV. The Indian Railways Conference Association has approved the new name and code, which will come into effect from June 1, 2025. All railway records, station signage, public announcements, and passenger information systems will reflect the updated name.
The station name will now be displayed and referred to as follows: In Devanagari Script (Marathi): धाराशिव In Devanagari Script (Hindi): धाराशिव In Roman Script (English): DHARASHIV To implement the name change smoothly, the Mumbai Passenger Reservation System (PRS) will undergo a brief shutdown. The system will be temporarily unavailable from 23:45 hrs on May 31, 2025, to 01:30 hrs on June 1, 2025. During this time, all necessary technical updates will be carried out. Passengers are advised to make reservations accordingly and take note of this change in the station name. Authorities have urged the general public to cooperate during the brief period of reservation downtime. This renaming marks a significant step in aligning railway infrastructure with the newly adopted identity of the region, and Indian Railways has assured a seamless transition for travelers and citizens alike.
