Actor Allu Arjun Released on Bail in Pushpa 2 Screening Stampede Case

Hyderabad: Actor Allu Arjun was released from Chanchalguda Jail on Saturday morning (December 14, 2024), hours after the Telangana High Court granted him four weeks of interim bail in connection with the stampede at the Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of his movie Pushpa-2. The tragic incident claimed one life and left another critically injured.
The actor exited the prison at 6:35 a.m., avoiding media personnel by using an alternative gate. According to officials, Arjun had to spend the night in jail as the legal paperwork for his bail could not be processed in time.
The stampede at Sandhya 70 MM theatre, which occurred during the eagerly awaited premiere, resulted in the death of a woman while her son continues to battle for his life in a private hospital. Authorities have named Allu Arjun in the case for his alleged involvement in promotional activities that led to overcrowding at the venue.
The actor's arrest by the Chikkadpally Police on Friday triggered sharp political reactions, with some leaders criticizing the move. However, the High Court emphasized the urgency of the situation, directing jail authorities and the Hyderabad police to ensure immediate compliance with its order.
