Andheri Hit-and-Run: 70-Year-Old Man Killed While Visiting Daughter

Andheri East,Mumbai: Mumbai, Andheri East – A tragic hit-and-run incident claimed the life of a 70-year-old man, Sadanand Kundar, on April 4, while he was crossing Sagbagh Road near the 3M Car Care shop in Andheri East. Kundar, a resident of Kalyan West, had come to visit his daughter, Jyoti Salian, in Marol.

The accident occurred around 9:25 a.m., as they were walking towards a nearby bank. Kundar, slightly ahead of his daughter, was hit by a speeding car, which flung him into the air before he crashed onto the road.

The car driver initially stopped and took Kundar and his daughter to Paramount Hospital in Sakinaka, where he was declared dead during treatment. However, the driver fled the hospital shortly after.

An FIR was filed on April 5 under sections 106(1) (causing death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with relevant Motor Vehicles Act provisions. CCTV footage is being examined as part of the investigation.
