MHADA's 'Janta Darbar' Begins at Bandra HQ to Address Public Grievances Swiftly

Mumbai, Maharashtra: In line with Maharashtra’s 100-day action plan, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) held a ‘Janta Darbar’ on April 4 at its headquarters in Bandra, Mumbai, to directly engage with citizens and address their grievances.
MHADA Vice President and CEO Sanjeev Jaiswal (IAS) personally reviewed 17 cases, including five formal applications, and promptly issued directives for resolution. In a break from traditional bureaucratic setups, Jaiswal moved through various departments inside MHADA’s Grihnirman Bhavan, interacting with residents in high-traffic areas to speed up redressals.
Several grievances were resolved on the spot, while complex cases were escalated with defined timelines to ensure follow-up. The initiative reflects a citizen-first approach in public administration.
Similar sessions held in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nashik saw strong public turnout. MHADA now plans to institutionalise ‘Janta Darbars’ across all its regional boards to foster greater accountability and transparency.
