Bhendi Bazaar 4-Storey Building Collapses, No Injuries Reported

Mumbai, Maharashtra: A partial collapse of a four-storey building in Bhendi Bazaar caused widespread concern in the densely populated area. The incident occurred at Husainibai Building, located at 40 Tan Tanpura Street, Nisan Pada, near Khoja Jamat Khana, around midnight on Thursday, December 12.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) received the first alert at 12:06 am and promptly responded to the scene. By 5:46 am, the building had entirely collapsed, leaving debris scattered across the vicinity. Fortunately, the vacant structure resulted in no reported injuries or casualties.
Authorities deployed five fire brigade vehicles for a search-and-rescue operation. Residents nearby were advised to steer clear of the area to ensure safety as officials worked to manage the aftermath of the incident.
Bhendi Bazaar, a crowded locality with several aging buildings, has seen calls for increased inspections and maintenance to prevent similar incidents.

This incident comes just days after a massive fire engulfed parts of Ansari Heights, a 22-storey high-rise in Dongri's Nishan Pada area, on November 27. The fire affected the 10th, 13th, and 18th floors, injuring three people, including a firefighter. All injured are in stable condition.
