Bill Gates Discusses AI, Healthcare, and Agriculture with Indian Ministers

New Delhi, India: Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates met with top Indian ministers to discuss Artificial Intelligence (AI), healthcare, and agriculture, highlighting India's leadership in AI-driven innovation.

Gates met Union Health Minister J P Nadda to review the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's collaboration with India in healthcare, focusing on maternal health, immunization, and sanitation. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also engaged with Gates on using AI and predictive analytics to enhance healthcare, education, and employment services. Naidu praised the Foundation’s role in ‘Swarna Andhra Pradesh 2047’, a long-term development plan.

Additionally, Gates met Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan to discuss food security, rural development, and AI applications in agriculture. India AI Mission and the Gates Foundation are set to sign an MoU to advance AI in critical sectors like healthcare, agriculture, weather forecasting, and disaster management.

Speaking at the Future Forward forum in New Delhi, Gates emphasized that India's AI leadership will drive global innovation, much like its success with Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). He also acknowledged India's contributions in low-cost vaccines and healthcare advancements.

During his visit, Gates also interacted with Minister of Electronics & IT Ashwini Vaishnaw to discuss India's role in the upcoming AI Summit. He noted that AI could accelerate breakthroughs in mRNA vaccines, agricultural innovation, and tackling malnutrition.

Gates also visited Parliament as the Budget Session continues.
