BJP Hits Back at Congress Over Adani Protests, Labels Rahul Gandhi as 'Anti-National'

New Delhi: The political battle in Parliament intensified as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, labeling him a "traitor" and "anti-national." This comes amid the Congress-led protests over the Adani controversy outside the Parliament gates, which have dominated this week's political discourse.
In a press conference on Thursday, the BJP countered the Congress by bringing up allegations against the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP). The BJP claims that reports from OCCRP, often used by the Congress to bolster their criticisms of the government, are part of a global conspiracy aimed at tarnishing India’s image.
The ruling party alleged that the OCCRP, funded by organizations linked to George Soros and the US government, is a tool of a "covert deep state network." Senior BJP leaders asserted that Congress and its allies in the INDIA bloc have exploited these reports for political gains, despite some claims—such as those on Pegasus spyware—being dismissed by the Supreme Court.
As tensions rise, sources indicate that both the Adani controversy and the OCCRP issue are likely to feature prominently in the upcoming Constitution debate in the Lok Sabha. While the BJP maintains that the Adani issue is unrelated to constitutional matters, it has warned of raising the OCCRP allegations if Congress persists with its protests.
The Congress has vehemently rejected the BJP’s accusations, with party leaders accusing the ruling party of attempting to divert attention from pressing issues. Meanwhile, protests at the Parliament's main gate, led by Rahul Gandhi, continue unabated, signaling an escalation in the political showdown.
