Drunk Girl Engages in Heated Argument with Nashik Cops After Being Stopped on Late-Night Ride; Video Goes Viral

Nashik, February 14, 2025: A heated argument between a girl and Nashik police officers has gone viral after a video showed her questioning the actions of the cops who stopped her and her boyfriend during the early hours of February 10. The incident, which took place around 3:30 AM on Gangapur Road, has sparked mixed reactions from the public on social media.

The couple, returning from a late-night party, was stopped by the police under suspicion of drunk driving. As the policemen approached their bike, the girl, identified as Bhoomi, appeared intoxicated and immediately engaged in a verbal exchange. She questioned the officers’ actions, stating, “Kyu bandh kar? Ek second, kya hua? Gaadi ki chaabi nahi le sakte aap. Hamari gaadi hai. Ladies police hai nahi idhr, ruko. Kya hua?” (Why stop our bike? One second, tell us what happened first. You can’t take our vehicle keys. This is our bike. There’s no lady cop here, wait. What happened?)

The argument escalated as the girl and her boyfriend questioned why the police were filming them instead of issuing a challan for any potential violations like helmet-less driving. In the footage, one officer is seen trying to pull out the keys of the bike while another films the couple and asks for their names.

While it is unclear if the boyfriend was also intoxicated, the police officers continued to engage with the couple in the absence of a lady officer, as required in cases involving female suspects. The couple was eventually allowed to leave the scene.

Social media users have been divided over the incident. Some have criticized the police for unnecessarily stopping the couple, with one user commenting, “Is just being drunk a crime in Nashik? No crime has happened here. The person driving is not drunk. In a civilized world, the police would have dropped them home instead of making a video.” Others pointed out the boyfriend’s violation of traffic rules, such as riding without a helmet, but many questioned whether the police were acting disproportionately in this situation.

The viral video continues to spark debates on social media about police conduct, public interactions, and the use of social media in such incidents.
