The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday raided the residence of businessman Raj Kundra, husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, as part of a money-laundering investigation. The probe is linked to allegations of pornographic content production and distribution through mobile applications.
Kundra, previously arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch in July 2021, faced charges under the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act. The 2021 case alleged his involvement in producing explicit content and distributing it via digital platforms. While he was granted bail later, the matter remains under investigation.
Friday's raids extend beyond Kundra's residence, targeting several individuals reportedly connected to the case. The ED’s inquiry aims to trace financial transactions linked to the alleged activities and uncover any potential violations under money-laundering laws.
Further developments in the case are awaited as authorities continue their investigation.
