GOLD futures gains by 0.71% and SILVER futures gains by 2.6%, while CRUDEOIL futures gains by 1.45%

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.53436.69 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 21 October 2024 till 5:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 14828.76 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 38602.03 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Oct-24 futures was reached at 19661 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 10940.78 crores. GOLD Dec-24 contract was up by 0.71% to Rs. 78303 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Oct-24 contract was up by 0.79% to Rs. 62811 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Oct-24 contract was up by 0.91% to Rs. 7641 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Oct-24 contract was up by 0.82% to Rs. 77795 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec-24 contract was up by 2.6% to Rs. 97880 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was up by 2.62% to Rs. 97677 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was up by 2.62% to Rs. 97661 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 3343.92 crores with volume of 4273 lots and OI of 18053 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 3918.52 crores with volume of 13311 lots and OI of 29516 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1812.62 crores. COPPER Oct-24 contract was up by 0.67% to Rs. 827.75 per kg and ZINC Oct-24 contract was up by 0.84% to Rs. 287.3 per kg while ALUMINIUM Oct-24 contract was down by 0.02% to Rs. 238.95 per kg and LEAD Oct-24 contract was down by 0.14% to Rs. 182.3 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1036.75 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 232.51 crores, Lead futures Rs. 36.31 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 344.70 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2109.54 crores. CRUDEOIL Oct-24 contract was up by 1.45% to Rs. 5940 per BBL while NATURALGAS Oct-24 contract was up by 3.46% to Rs. 197.5 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 561.50 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1291.36 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Oct-24 contract was down by 0.06% to Rs. 904 per kg and COTTONCNDY Nov-24 contract was up by 2.05% to Rs. 57620 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 38602.03 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 857.31 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was up by 11.33% to Rs. 223.10 with volume of 26223 lots & OI of 9373 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5800 was down by 15.85% to Rs. 208.6 with volume of 22726 lots & OI of 6768 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.200 was up by 54.72% to Rs. 4.10 with volume of 50838 lots & OI of 15540 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.185 was down by 61.54% to Rs. 1.25 with volume of 27550 lots & OI of 4748 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.78000 was up by 21.03% to Rs. 1591.00 with volume of 439 lots & OI of 512 lots, while Gold Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.78000 was down by 17.47% to Rs. 1316 with volume of 595 lots & OI of 370 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.105000 was up by 56.48% to Rs. 1460.00 with volume of 811 lots & OI of 512 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was down by 37.72% to Rs. 815.5 with volume of 938 lots & OI of 802 lots.
