Google Teams Up with NCERT to Launch Educational YouTube Channels in 29 Indian Languages

Google has teamed up with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to reshape education across India, focusing on accessibility, inclusivity, and engagement through digital platforms. The collaboration aims to provide educational resources in multiple languages, catering to the diverse needs of India’s student population.

YouTube Channels for Multilingual Learning

As part of the partnership, dedicated YouTube channels will be launched for students from grades 1 to 12. The channels will offer educational content in 29 Indian languages, including Indian Sign Language. This move ensures that students from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds can access high-quality learning materials, breaking down barriers to education.

Certified Courses on YouTube

In another significant development, Google is collaborating with the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) to offer certified courses on YouTube. These courses, supported by India’s esteemed IITs, will cover a broad range of subjects, from sciences and literature to sports psychology and rocket propulsion. Learners who complete these courses will earn certifications through the NPTEL-SWAYAM portal, creating new opportunities for those outside the IIT system to access world-class education.

AI-Powered Enhancements for Learning

To further enhance the learning experience, Google is incorporating artificial intelligence into educational content. AI tools will identify key concepts in videos, providing definitions, images, and additional context sourced from Google’s Knowledge Graph. This feature will support subjects like physics, biology, and chemistry, offering students immediate clarity and supplemental resources as they study.

A Digital Revolution in Education

This collaboration marks a significant step in making quality education more accessible to millions of Indian students. By integrating advanced technology with multilingual content, Google and NCERT are paving the way for a more inclusive, accessible, and learner-centric education system in India. Whether for foundational learning in schools or advanced courses for professionals, this initiative promises to transform the country’s educational landscape into a truly digital one.
