Hair Horror at Dadar Station: Man Cuts College Girl’s Braid, Arrested

Dadar, Mumbai: In a bizarre and shocking incident, a 19-year-old college girl’s braid was cut off by a man at Dadar railway station while she was heading to college.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning around 9:29 am. The young woman, traveling from Kalyan to Matunga Road on a women’s special train, was crossing the footbridge at Dadar station when the shocking act happened.
According to her statement, she felt a prick near the booking counter and noticed a man running away with a backpack. She then saw her braid lying on the ground. Distressed, she immediately reported the incident to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and filed an FIR.
Using CCTV footage, the Mumbai Central Railway Police tracked down and arrested the accused, identified as 35-year-old Dinesh Gaikwad, a Chembur resident working in a private company. The police registered a case under Sections 74 and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and are probing the motive behind the incident.
