Hidden Camera Found in Girls' Washroom at Andhra Hostel, Massive Protests Erupt

Andra Pradesh:A significant protest broke out at Gudlavalleru College of Engineering in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh after a hidden camera was discovered in the girls’ hostel washroom. Allegations that the videos recorded were circulated among students sparked outrage and calls for justice.

The discovery was made by a student, leading to a demonstration on Thursday night. Hundreds of students gathered at the college, chanting slogans such as "we want justice" and demanding strict action against those responsible for the hidden camera and the video dissemination.

In response, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has ordered an inquiry into the incident. A case has been registered, and a final-year student has been detained in connection with the matter. The student's identity has not been disclosed, and further investigations are ongoing.

The college administration has denied the presence of hidden cameras in the hostel and has pledged full cooperation with the police investigation. They have also promised to enhance campus security in light of the incident.

Police have examined the electronic devices of the accused student in the presence of students and college staff but have not found any incriminating evidence so far. Krishna District Collector DK Balaji and Superintendent of Police Gangadhar Rao have visited the campus to address the ongoing protest and ensure a resolution to the situation.
