India Shatters Records with Historic T20I Win Over South Africa

In a sensational display of power-hitting, India smashed records en route to a dominant 134-run victory in the 4th T20I against South Africa, clinching the series 3-1. The Wanderers Stadium saw history unfold as Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma redefined T20I cricket with a blistering partnership, propelling India to a mammoth total of 283/1 — the fifth-highest in men’s T20I history.
The pair formed the first-ever 210-run partnership for India in T20Is, with both scoring centuries. This feat made them only the third duo in history to achieve such a milestone in the same innings. With Abhishek Sharma contributing a quick-fire 36, India posted the highest T20I total ever in South Africa, surpassing the previous record of 271/3 set by Titans in 2022.
India also became the first team to score three 250-plus totals in T20Is, further cementing their dominance in the format. The team smoked 23 sixes, the third-highest in a T20I innings, with Zimbabwe’s 27 sixes against Gambia holding the record.
Under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, India’s historic win marked another milestone in their rise as the dominant force in T20 cricket.
