New York/Delhi : India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meeting with Palestine's President Mahmoud Abbas during his visit to America is being considered important. Both leaders met at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel here. Both discussed many important topics.
Prime Minister Modi wrote on his X handle, "Met President Mahmoud Abbas in New York. Reiterated India's support for the early restoration of peace and stability in the region. Exchanged views to further strengthen long-term friendship with the people of Palestine."
It is noteworthy that India is considering a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. Prime Minister Modi is one of the first global leaders to condemn the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7 last year. But India has also repeatedly expressed concern over the deteriorating situation in Gaza.
