Jaishankar Highlights India’s "Balanced" Stance on Palestine, Backs Two-State Solution

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has once again emphasized India’s "balanced approach" to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, reaffirming the country's longstanding support for a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine issue. Speaking at a recent international event, Jaishankar reiterated India’s position of advocating for a peaceful and negotiated resolution to the decades-old conflict, ensuring the right to self-determination for the Palestinian people while recognizing Israel’s right to exist in peace and security. Jaishankar stressed that India’s stance remains consistent, emphasizing that the solution must be based on mutually agreed-upon borders.
He also highlighted the importance of international support for such an arrangement to achieve lasting peace. In addition to addressing the political aspects of the conflict, the External Affairs Minister underscored India’s firm opposition to terrorism and all forms of violence, especially the taking of hostages. He called for greater global cooperation in combatting these issues, noting that such actions only exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in the region. Jaishankar’s comments reaffirm India’s historical position of supporting a balanced approach in the Middle East, characterized by dialogue, cooperation, and respect for all parties’ rights. India continues to call for peace and stability in the region, emphasizing the importance of multilateralism and dialogue as key drivers of long-term solutions.
