Kalyan: Transgender Group Allegedly Steals Gold Valuables During Ganpati Darshan

Kalyan:In a surprising turn of events in the Wadekar area of Kalyan, a group of five transgender individuals allegedly entered a home under the pretext of seeking Ganpati darshan and made off with gold valuables worth ₹2.4 lakh. The incident has raised concerns among local devotees during the festive season.
The accused reportedly stole a 15-tola gold necklace belonging to Suresh Patil's family. Patil has since filed a formal complaint at the Khadakpada police station.
According to reports, the necklace, which belonged to Patil’s mother and wife, was placed near the Ganpati idol in their makeshift shrine. On Sunday morning, the group entered the house, while the Patil family was occupied with cleaning, assuming the visitors would leave after receiving prasad.
While Patil's mother stepped outside to dispose of trash, one of the individuals discreetly took the gold necklace and hid it. The group then requested ₹2,000 in alms, to which Patil's mother contributed ₹200. After receiving prasad, the group left, and it wasn't until Suresh Patil began his prayers that the family realized the necklace was missing.
Upon inquiring, Patil's family confirmed that they had not touched the valuables, leading to suspicions that the group was involved in the theft. The Khadakpada police are actively investigating the incident and searching for the suspects.
This incident has caused unrest among the Ganesh devotees in Kalyan-Dombivli, highlighting the need for increased vigilance during the festival season.
