Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Launches 'Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana' on Raksha Bandhan

Mumbai,: The Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government has officially launched the 'Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana' today, coinciding with the Raksha Bandhan festival. The initiative, which aims to empower women across the state, will provide ₹1500 every month to more than one crore women in Maharashtra.

The scheme, modeled after Madhya Pradesh's successful 'Ladli Behna Yojana,' is a significant step by the Maharashtra government to support women financially. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has assured that unlike temporary measures, the 'Ladki Bahin Yojana' will be a permanent scheme, continuing indefinitely to protect and promote the interests of women in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Shinde highlighted the symbolic launch on Raksha Bandhan, a festival that celebrates the bond of protection between brothers and sisters. He emphasized that the 'Ladki Bahin Yojana' is a commitment from his government to safeguard the rights and well-being of women, ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive.
