Maharashtra HSC Result 2025: Girls Outshine Boys As Overall Pass Percentage Touches 91.88%

Mumbai: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) on Monday declared the HSC Class 12 exam results for the academic year 2024-25, registering an impressive overall pass percentage of 91.88%. The results are now available on the board’s official websites including mahresult.nic.in, mahahsscboard.in, and other affiliated platforms.
In a consistent trend, girls outperformed boys this year as well. The pass percentage for girls stood at 94.58%, while boys recorded an 89.51% pass rate.
Stream-wise Performance
According to MSBSHSE data:

Science stream led the chart with a pass percentage of 97.35%.

Commerce stream followed with 92.38%, while

Arts stream registered 80.52%.

The vocational stream saw 83.26% students passing.
Private candidates also showed encouraging results, with 83.73% of the 36,133 registered candidates clearing the exams.
Notably, 37 subjects among the 154 offered had a 100% pass rate, indicating strong performance in specific academic areas.
Differently-Abled Candidates
A total of 7,310 differently-abled students appeared for the HSC examination this year. Of these, 6,705 cleared the exam, marking a commendable pass percentage of 92.38% in this category.

About the HSC Exam 2025
The HSC examinations were conducted from February 11 to March 11, 2025, earlier than usual. Over 15 lakh Class 12 students appeared this year, including 6,94,652 girls, 8,10,348 boys, and 37 transgender students.
In total, over 31 lakh students registered for both SSC and HSC exams, reflecting the state’s vast education infrastructure and participation.
Students, parents, and educators have welcomed the smooth conduct of exams and timely results, while education experts have praised the continued academic excellence shown by Maharashtra's youth.
