Man Tries to Escape from Police by Hanging from 10th-Floor Balcony in Mira Road, Caught after Dramatic Rescue

Mumbai : According to officials, the accused, who had been evading authorities, was wanted by the Hyderabad Police in connection with a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The suspect had been living in a building under the jurisdiction of the Kashimira Police Station in Mira Road when Hyderabad Police arrived to apprehend him.

However, the accused, in an effort to flee, decided to scale down from the 10th-floor balcony of the building. In a tense scene, he was seen dangling precariously from the balcony of the high-rise, as police and fire department personnel below worked frantically to save him. A safety net was deployed in the building's compound as a precautionary measure, but the man remained stuck, prompting further intervention.

At approximately 11 a.m., the police and fire brigade launched a coordinated rescue operation. Firefighters, local police, and Hyderabad police officials worked together to help the accused return to safety. According to the police, the man was eventually convinced to climb back up, after which they broke open the door to his apartment and engaged him in dialogue to prevent any further risk to his life.

"His safety was our priority, and we took every necessary step to ensure that no harm came to him during the rescue operation," a police official from Kashimira Police Station said. "We managed to safely bring him down with the help of the fire brigade and handed him over to the Hyderabad Police."

The entire operation lasted for over an hour, during which the police kept the area cordoned off to avoid any potential accidents. The authorities emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of individuals, even when they are being apprehended.

The accused, whose identity has not been disclosed, was later taken into custody by the Hyderabad Police, who had been tracking him for his involvement in narcotics-related offenses.
