MCX records turnover of Rs.10714.15 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.46225.57 crores in Options

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.56941.03 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 17 December 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 10714.15 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 46225.57 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Dec-24 futures was reached at 18700 point. Commodity Future Contracts: Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 7034.98 crores. GOLD Feb-25 contract was down by 0.42% to Rs. 76737 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Dec-24 contract was down by 0.37% to Rs. 61790 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Dec-24 contract was down by 0.34% to Rs. 7678 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Jan-25 contract was down by 0.42% to Rs. 76161 per 10 gram. SILVER Mar-25 contract was down by 0.86% to Rs. 90400 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was down by 0.8% to Rs. 90481 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was down by 0.8% to Rs. 90485 per kg. Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 3270.60 crores with volume of 4253 lots and OI of 14566 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1578.38 crores with volume of 5800 lots and OI of 29836 lots. Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1719.53 crores. COPPER Dec-24 contract was down by 0.82% to Rs. 807.55 per kg and ZINC Dec-24 contract was down by 0.63% to Rs. 283.6 per kg while ALUMINIUM Dec-24 contract was down by 0.53% to Rs. 242.05 per kg and LEAD Dec-24 contract was down by 0.25% to Rs. 178.65 per kg. Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 889.65 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 321.86 crores, Lead futures Rs. 27.52 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 337.49 crores. Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1955.97 crores. CRUDEOIL Dec-24 contract was down by 1.25% to Rs. 5947 per BBL while NATURALGAS Dec-24 contract was up by 0.91% to Rs. 276.5 per MMBTU. Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 613.65 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1093.56 crores. AGRI: MENTHAOIL Dec-24 contract was up by 0.6% to Rs. 937 per kg and COTTONCNDY Jan-25 contract was down by 0.27% to Rs. 54520 per candy. Options on Commodity Future Contracts: Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 46225.57 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 762.65 crores. Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was down by 22.94% to Rs. 152.50 with volume of 52431 lots & OI of 16133 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was up by 19.86% to Rs. 234.8 with volume of 39186 lots & OI of 8684 lots. Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.280 was up by 6.82% to Rs. 9.40 with volume of 22923 lots & OI of 10509 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.270 was down by 14.53% to Rs. 7.35 with volume of 18662 lots & OI of 8468 lots. Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.78000 was down by 18.59% to Rs. 440.00 with volume of 2066 lots & OI of 1151 lots, while Gold Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.76000 was up by 26.96% to Rs. 598 with volume of 1629 lots & OI of 873 lots. Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.100000 was down by 7.59% to Rs. 1358.00 with volume of 361 lots & OI of 2164 lots, while Silver Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was up by 11.16% to Rs. 3450 with volume of 315 lots & OI of 782 lots.
