MCX records turnover of Rs.2907 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.18863 crores in Options

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.21771.79 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 01 January 2025 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs.2907.03 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs.18863.92 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Jan-25 futures was reached at 18598 point.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs.1667.38 crores. GOLD Feb-25 without any changes Rs.76893 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Jan-25 without any changes Rs.62050 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Jan-25 without any changes Rs.7692 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Jan-25 contract was down by 0.02% to Rs.76200 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-25 contract was down by 0.03% to Rs.87550 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was down by 0.02% to Rs.87682 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was down by 0.01% to Rs.87680 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs.732.68 crores with volume of 953 lots and OI of 14532 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs.358.57 crores with volume of 1365 lots and OI of 36320 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs.503.57 crores. COPPER Jan-25 contract was up by 0.02% to Rs.794 per kg and ZINC Jan-25 contract was up by 0.11% to Rs.279.9 per kg while ALUMINIUM Jan-25 contract was up by 0.02% to Rs.241.75 per kg and LEAD Jan-25 contract was up by 0.06% to Rs.177.7 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs.299.10 crores, Aluminium futures Rs.16.80 crores, Lead futures Rs.12.25 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs.122.21 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs.734.30 crores. CRUDEOIL Jan-25 contract was up by 0.02% to Rs.6172 per BBL while NATURALGAS Jan-25 contract was up by 0.25% to Rs.316 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs.110.88 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs.479.11 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Jan-25 contract was up by 0.01% to Rs.940 per kg and COTTONCNDY Jan-25 contract was up by 0.26% to Rs.54470 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs.18863.92 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs.363.47 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6200 was up by 1.63% to Rs.124.50 with volume of 16470 lots & OI of 6882 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6100 was down by 0.18% to Rs.108.2 with volume of 14933 lots & OI of 17208 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.310 was up by 11.53% to Rs.29.50 with volume of 4294 lots & OI of 1283 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.300 was down by 10.27% to Rs.18.35 with volume of 4013 lots & OI of 3602 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.78000 was up by 0.79% to Rs.508.50 with volume of 389 lots & OI of 440 lots, while Gold Put Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.76000 was down by 1.5% to Rs.591.5 with volume of 467 lots & OI of 530 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was down by 0.14% to Rs.2170.00 with volume of 80 lots & OI of 1317 lots, while Silver Put Option contract at Strike price of with volume of lots & OI of lots.
