Navi Mumbai Shocker: 70-Year-Old Woman and Son Found Dead in Gas-Filled Flat

Navi Mumbai: A chilling incident unfolded in Kamothe, Navi Mumbai, where a 70-year-old woman, Geeta Bhushan Jaggi, and her 45-year-old son, Jitendra, were found dead inside their flat on Wednesday evening. The flat was discovered filled with liquified petroleum gas (LPG) when authorities reached the scene.

According to police sources, the tragedy came to light around 4 PM when relatives visited the residence and received no response despite repeated knocking. The Navi Mumbai Police and fire brigade were alerted and arrived at the scene. On breaking open the door, they found the LPG supply knob turned on, causing gas to fill the flat.

Fire personnel promptly stopped the gas leakage and discovered the victims lying motionless. Injury marks were observed on Jitendra’s body, police said.

Further investigation revealed that Jitendra had been separated from his wife for 15 years, and she lived nearby. Both bodies were sent to a local government-run hospital for postmortem. Police are yet to register a case in connection with this incident.
