Vasai, Maharashtra – In a heartbreaking incident, 39-year-old Suman Santosh Yadav, an Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) worker, tragically lost her life in a train accident while on her way to perform election duty on Wednesday morning. The tragic incident occurred around 6:30 am near the Vasai-Diva railway line, close to Nagale village, when Yadav was crossing the tracks. According to officials, she was struck by a train, resulting in her untimely death.

Yadav had been serving as an ASHA worker with the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation's health department for the past five years and had been assigned election duty at Zilla Parishad School, Nagale, as part of preparations for the general assembly elections. Her death has left her colleagues and municipal staff in a state of shock and grief. The sudden and tragic loss of Yadav, who was well-regarded in her community, has deeply affected those who worked with her.

The Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation expressed its condolences and acknowledged her dedication to her work. The Dombivli Government Railway Police (GRP) have registered an accidental death report (ADR) and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
