Mumbai Metro Unveils Exclusive Photos of Acharya Atre Chowk Station on Aqua Line 3

Mumbai, April 21: The Mumbai Metro Line 3 project has unveiled exclusive images of the Acharya Atre Chowk metro station—part of the much-awaited fully underground Aqua Line 3. The newly released photos provide a first glimpse of the station’s sleek and modern interiors, including Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates, a spacious staircase, and a state-of-the-art elevator.
The images were shared by Mumbai Metro 3 on social media platform X, adding to earlier previews of major stations such as Worli, Dadar, and Siddhivinayak. Acharya Atre Chowk station is situated beneath one of Mumbai’s most densely packed and high-traffic areas, making its construction a remarkable engineering feat.
In the official post, Mumbai Metro 3 stated, “Here’s the first look at the Acharya Atre Chowk metro station constructed amidst relentless traffic, giant utility lines, and the heartbeat of Mumbai’s commercial and residential zones. It’s where precision met planning to make space underground, without pausing the city above.”
The newly revealed AFC gates are part of the metro’s modern ticketing and access system, designed to streamline commuter movement. The elevator, highlighted in the images, is tailored to meet the needs of senior citizens, differently-abled passengers, and travelers carrying luggage. Additionally, a wide staircase has been built to offer an alternative mode of access.
Acharya Atre Chowk is one of the key stations on Aqua Line 3, which aims to ease the burden on Mumbai’s road traffic and provide a more efficient, underground travel solution for daily commuters.
With every update, the Mumbai Metro 3 project continues to showcase the immense planning, innovation, and execution behind one of the city’s most transformative infrastructure projects.
