Central Railway Mega Block on August 3 to Affect Several Suburban Train Services

Mumbai, August 1, 2025: The Central Railway’s Mumbai Division will carry out a scheduled mega block on Sunday, August 3, 2025, for essential engineering and maintenance works. This routine exercise, crucial for infrastructure safety and upkeep, will significantly impact suburban train services on both the Main Line and the Harbour Line.
The block will affect fast train services between Matunga and Mulund from 11:05 AM to 3:45 PM. Down fast trains departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 10:36 AM and 3:10 PM will be diverted onto the slow line from Matunga to Mulund and will halt at all stations en route. These services are expected to reach their destinations about 15 minutes later than scheduled. Similarly, up fast services from Thane between 11:03 AM and 3:38 PM will run via the up slow line from Mulund to Matunga and will also arrive approximately 15 minutes late at their destinations.
In addition to this, Harbour Line services between Kurla and Vashi will remain suspended from 11:10 AM to 4:10 PM. This will result in the cancellation of trains from CSMT to Vashi, Belapur, and Panvel during this period, as well as trains coming from those stations towards CSMT. However, special suburban trains will operate between CSMT and Kurla, and between Panvel and Vashi to accommodate passenger traffic.
To further assist Harbour Line passengers, travel between Thane and Vashi/Nerul will be permitted from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The railway administration has urged commuters to cooperate with the authorities during this maintenance window and plan their journeys accordingly.
The Central Railway emphasized that such mega blocks, though temporarily inconvenient, are vital for long-term safety and improvement of services.
