Maharashtra, India: Commuters traveling on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway and Samruddhi Expressway will face higher toll charges starting April 1, 2025, as per the latest revision by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).

The Pune-Mumbai Expressway will see a 3% hike, with four-wheelers paying ₹5 more for a one-way trip and ₹10 extra for a round trip. Larger vehicles, including buses and trucks, will face an increase of ₹15-₹20.

Meanwhile, the Samruddhi Expressway will undergo a steeper 20% hike, with light vehicles now being charged ₹2.06 per km (up from ₹1.73). Toll rates for heavy vehicles will also rise, with two-axle trucks paying ₹6.97 per km, three-axle vehicles ₹7.60 per km, and oversized vehicles ₹13.30 per km (up from ₹11.17).

Once fully operational, car drivers traveling the entire Mumbai-Nagpur route on the Samruddhi Expressway will pay ₹1,445 in toll fees. The final 76 km stretch from Igatpuri to Aamne is expected to open within a month.

Frequent travelers and businesses relying on road transport may feel the financial impact of these toll hikes over time. Authorities recommend using FASTag for seamless transactions and staying updated on toll changes for better travel planning.
