Kalyan, Maharashtra: A Heartbreaking Loss that Shakes the Community

A tragic incident has sent shockwaves through Kalyan, as a 12-year-old girl was found dead following a harrowing sequence of events on December 23. The young victim, who lived in a chawl in Kalyan, was last seen around 4 pm heading to a nearby shop. Her parents, who began searching frantically for her when she didn’t return, were devastated to learn that she had been killed.

The accused, Vishal Gawli, 28, was initially suspected of involvement in the disappearance. The girl’s body was found a day later in a remote area of Padgha, located around 15 kilometers from the girl’s home. It is alleged that Gawli, with the help of another individual, disposed of the body during the night, passing through the area where the victim’s parents continued their search.

Following an in-depth investigation, Gawli was arrested on December 25 after police traced technical leads and secured his location in Buldhana. His wife, Sakshi, was arrested earlier for allegedly assisting in the disposal of the body.

The local community has expressed deep outrage and grief, with many gathering to call for justice for the young girl. In response to the crime, a banner was put up by local residents, urging strict action and capital punishment for those responsible.

The police are continuing their investigation, and the final postmortem report is awaited. Amid growing tensions, authorities have ensured heightened security in the area to maintain peace while residents wait for justice.
