Mob Vandalises Commercial Building in Kandivali, Damages Estimated at ₹1.5 Crore

Mumbai : In a shocking incident, a group of around 45 unidentified individuals vandalised a commercial building—West Centre—located in Ekta Nagar, Kandivali West, on the morning of April 27. The incident caused an estimated damage of ₹1.5 crore to a company owned by Bhavy Shah, according to police sources.
As per the First Information Report (FIR), the mob assembled outside the premises around 11:30 am and began issuing threats to the security guard, instructing him to have the office staff vacate the building. Shortly thereafter, the group forcibly entered the premises and began ransacking the office.
Armed with hammers and bamboo sticks, the vandals reportedly destroyed glass panes, computers, air conditioners, and furniture in a targeted act of violence. The police have registered a case against 45 unidentified individuals under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
The FIR does not specify the motive behind the vandalism, and investigations are currently underway. So far, no arrests have been made, and the police are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the accused.
This incident has raised concerns about commercial security and law enforcement in the area, with local business owners expressing alarm over the scale of destruction.
