Mira-Bhayandar: Highway Police Help Center Transferred from Chinchoti to MBVV Commissionerate

Mumbai: In a significant move to enhance traffic regulation on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway, the state government has approved the transfer of the Highway Police Help Center from Chinchoti to the Mira-Bhayandar-Vasai-Virar (MBVV) Police Commissionerate. This decision follows a formal request from the office of the Director General of Police.

The Highway Police Help Center, previously under the jurisdiction of the Highway Traffic Police department, has been handed over to the MBVV Commissionerate to improve traffic management on National Highway-48. Established in September 2019 after the division of Thane Rural and Palghar police jurisdictions, the MBVV Commissionerate will now oversee the traffic planning and regulation in this area.

The government has agreed to transfer the necessary equipment and manpower associated with the Chinchoti Highway Police Help Center, which includes three Police Sub-Inspectors and 33 police personnel. This strategic move aims to streamline operations and enhance the efficiency of traffic management in the region.

A government official stated, "The decision to transfer the resources and responsibilities aligns with our ongoing efforts to improve road safety and traffic regulation on crucial highways."

This transition is expected to facilitate better coordination and response to traffic-related issues along the busy Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor, benefiting commuters and enhancing overall road safety.
