Mumbai Police Arrest Songwriter for Threatening Salman Khan

Mumbai/Maharashtra: A budding songwriter, Sohail Pasha, was arrested on Tuesday by Mumbai Police for allegedly sending threat messages to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, demanding Rs 5 crore in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Pasha, hailing from Raichur in Karnataka, is accused of using the extortion attempt to gain fame for his song "Main Sikandar Hun".
The Mumbai Traffic Police helpline received multiple messages on November 7, claiming the sender was a member of the Bishnoi gang and threatening to kill Salman Khan unless a ransom of Rs 5 crore was paid. The sender also warned that the writer of the song would be killed.
Mumbai Police traced the threatening messages to a mobile number in Raichur, Karnataka. Investigations revealed that Vyankatesh Narayan, whose phone number was used for the messages, had unknowingly lent his phone to a stranger, who installed WhatsApp using an OTP sent to Narayan’s number. The probe eventually led to Pasha, who admitted to sending the threats in an attempt to promote his song by associating it with a high-profile figure like Salman Khan.
Pasha was arrested and brought to Mumbai for further questioning. Police confirmed that the Traffic Police helpline had previously received at least four such threat messages aimed at Salman Khan in recent months. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
