Mumbai Police Arrest Suspect in Shah Rukh Khan Death Threat Case

Mumbai : In a major breakthrough, Mumbai Police have apprehended Faizal Khan, a resident of Raipur, Chhattisgarh, for allegedly making a death threat against Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The arrest follows a high-stakes investigation after a disturbing call was made to the Bandra police station, where the caller demanded ₹50 lakh from Khan, threatening dire consequences if the demand was not met.
The incident began on November 7, when a caller, claiming to be near Khan’s famous Mumbai residence "Mannat," contacted the police. The caller, identifying himself as "Hindustani," allegedly threatened to kill the superstar if his ransom demand was not fulfilled. The Mumbai Police, alarmed by the severity of the threat, swiftly launched an investigation to trace the origin of the call. Their efforts led them to Raipur, Chhattisgarh, where the suspect, Faizal Khan, was eventually located and apprehended at his residence.
Faizal Khan, a lawyer by profession, has denied involvement in the threatening call. According to Faizal, his phone was stolen on November 2, and he had already lodged a complaint regarding the theft. He maintains that the threatening call made to the police was part of a larger conspiracy against him, asserting that he informed authorities in Mumbai about the incident.
Adding a personal dimension, Faizal pointed out his connection with the Bishnoi community from Rajasthan, known for its commitment to protecting wildlife, particularly deer. He claimed that he had previously raised objections to a dialogue from Shah Rukh Khan’s 1994 film Anjaam, which he found offensive concerning deer hunting. Faizal clarified that his objection was on behalf of his friends in the Bishnoi community, although this is unrelated to the threat case.
After identifying the phone number associated with the threat, Mumbai Police summoned Faizal Khan for questioning in Raipur. Following an interrogation, they proceeded with his arrest despite his claim of being a victim of theft. Authorities are reportedly analyzing all evidence closely, including Faizal’s claims and the phone records, to understand the extent of his involvement and confirm the authenticity of his defense.
In response to this incident and the broader security risks faced by the actor, authorities have implemented additional safety measures around Shah Rukh Khan. Known for his massive fan base and recent successes in blockbuster hits Pathaan and Jawan, Khan has previously received threats, leading to the provision of Y+ security last year.
Amid these security concerns, Shah Rukh Khan is preparing for the release of his highly anticipated film King, directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The action thriller will feature a star-studded cast, including Khan's daughter Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Abhay Verma.
As the investigation continues, fans and the industry await further developments, hoping for a swift and just resolution to this concerning incident.
