Mumbai Police Arrests 11 in Baba Siddique Murder Case; Main Shooter Still at Large

Mumbai : In a significant development in the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddique, the Mumbai Police have arrested another suspect, Amit Hisamsing Kumar, a 29-year-old resident of Nathwan Patti in Haryana's Kaithal. His arrest brings the total number of individuals in custody to 11.

On Sunday, the police also apprehended a scrap dealer, Bhagwat Singh Om Singh, in Navi Mumbai. Singh, originally from Udaipur in Rajasthan, is alleged to have supplied the weapon used in the assassination that took place on October 12.

Baba Siddique was shot outside his son Zeeshan Siddique's office by three assailants. Two of the shooters, identified as Gurmail Baljit Singh (23) and Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap (19), have been arrested. The main shooter, Shivkumar Gautam, along with two other conspirators, remains at large. Crime branch teams are actively searching for Gautam, who is considered the primary shooter.

According to police reports, the hitmen received shooting training in Karjat, near Mumbai, in August. Investigations revealed that the five suspects arrested initially demanded ₹50 lakh for the contract killing but later withdrew their offer due to disagreements regarding payment and the influence of the NCP leader. Nonetheless, they continued to provide logistical support to the actual perpetrators.

The suspects in custody have been identified as Nitin Gautam Sapre (32), Sambhaji Kisan Pardhi (44), Pradeep Dattu Thombre (37), Chetan Dilip Pardhi (27), and Ram Fulchand Kanoujia (43). Sapre hails from Dombivli, while the other three are from Ambernath in Thane district, and Kanoujia is a resident of Panvel in Raigad.

The investigation into this high-profile case is ongoing, with authorities working diligently to apprehend all involved.
